Typical Week
During a typical week of hosting you will get to have the unique experience of being a tourist in your own province! There's an endless supply of activities and events you can take part in during this week. Hosting will also allow you the unique privilege to connect with other host families in Alberta and make life long lasting connections with other Albertans. We have a Facebook group specifically for host families to get to know each other, plan events together and chat!
During your week hosting you will be responsible for the transportation, room and board, and general wellbeing
of your students. We strive to ensure all youths have the best possible experience while they are with us.
You will also be required to have a vulnerable sector check completed before your students arrive.
We have a volunteer letter you can use to have this done at no cost.
You can view the official Lions Host Family Handbook by clicking here. This handbook highlights
exactly what is expected of a host family through the Lions Youth International Exchange Program.
We encourage host families to plan events together for the best possible experience.
Below you will be able to see a list of common activities our previous host families have done with their campers.
